Fairies and their wonderland

Morning!

Oh dear! We are all a bit slow this morning!  It's dark now when we get up and seems to take us all that little bit longer to get started, to be honest, I don't even think my eyes are fully open right now.

The image I am bringing to you today is from Emerald Faerie Garden, I'm not sure you can get these images anymore, which is a great shame but makes it even more special for me as a crafter to have the pleasure of its continued use.

I wanted to give this Faerie a cosy feeling of sleeping under the stars so did a dark background and used frantage to light it up.

I surrounded the image with Petal Lu flowers and used a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

Copics used:

Skin: E000, E04, E11, E21, E00
Faerie: Y35, Y38, YR68, E08, E18, G20, Y11, Y00
Mushroom: R56, R85, RV34, R83, R81, G20, Y11, Y00
Background: B39, C7, BV25, C5, C3, C1

Star Princess

Hi there!

The best bit about my craft time today was my daughter sitting beside me making her little brother a card too.  We discussed this one at great length, she wanted pink hair, I wanted blue, she wanted a blue dress and I wanted yellow! We did however agree on the colour of the stars!!

I decided to use Star Princess from Whimsy Stamps in the Kirsten Winkelbauer Collection, my daughter doesn't realise just how many of these stamps I have and will be thrilled to bits as over the next few weeks they will all be used.  You can get these stamps either from Whimsy Stamps or for UK Crafters Dies to Die For.

So, moving swiftly on.......

Got to call me Elliot!!

Hello!

Well this week has been World Book Week, but I'm sure you already knew that.   You've probably been frantic all week about that costume you have to make or buy for the 1 day of the year every child wants to dress up!!!

Josephine is going as that clock from Beauty and the Beast, Cogsworth is it?  So Daddy has been making her costume all week out of cardboard and my dining table now looks like a clock with all the new paint work!! gasp!!  Ben is going as Harry Potter (his was easy, costume shop and a shed load of money).

Ben however, has had relevant homework too! Write about your favourite book and draw a picture.  Ben's favourite book is Pete's Dragon.  'Mummy, get your stamps out!'  I obliged, I created and we decided the teacher would know for deffinate that he didn't do it!!!!

So, we made a card instead!!

This little cutie is called Dragon Party and is from the Crissy Armstrong Collection at Whimsy Stamps, (UK Crafters, you can get these from Dies to Die For).

This is as close to Elliot as we could get, granted the party hat and maybe the balloons shouldn't be there but hec, this is for kids afterall!!

So, copics used:

Dragon Green: G28, YG67, YG45, YG23, YG11, C7
Dragon Purple: BV08, BV17, BV13
Balloons: YR07, YR16, Y38
Background: B93, B41, B21, B00, B000

I could't make up my mind if this was for a little boy or a girl, but figured flowers would be nice anyway.  These are Petal Lu Flowers.

As you can see, I matched the inside of the card to the outside.

I hope you like what I have created.

The Challenges I am entering this into are:

Addicted to Stamps and More - Make your mark

Sending Lots of Smiles your way!

Hello Again!

Wow! Am I having fun! I've recently got my hands on a few of the Roberto Rascals stamps from C.C. Designs and having so much fun.  Today I am using Swingin, such an adorable image.  Every morning my children make me watch children's TV and we always end up watching 'Piny', I don't mind it at all, what I find myself doing is studying the colours of all the characters, their hair colour, the colours they wear and thus I've decided colourful hair is 'IN'!

You tell me what you think.......

Don't they look the business!! haha!

Copics I have used here are:

Skin: E000, E04, E11, E21, E00, R20, R11
Blue Hair: B05, BG05, BG01, B00
Pink Hair: RV17, RV06, RV04, RV55, RV02
Green Shirt: YG23, YG03, YG00
Yellow Dress: Y38, Y08, Y11
Orange Shorts: YR16, Y17

I decided once again, to stick with a CAS card and just use a sentiment stamp from PolkaDoodles.  I think I blinked or sneezed at that point, because it went a bit wonky, but I'm happy to work with wonky once in a while!

Challenges I am entering this into are:

A Snowflakes Promise - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments Designs - Anything Goes
Lemon Shortbread - Anything Goes
TTCRD - Always Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by xx

Dress up SnowDay

Hello!

Today I am showing you my first completed Christmas card for 2017, not sure how many I will get done this year, but at least I've made a start.  Ben has already claimed this as his own, so thats one little boy happy!!  He did afterall stand over me instructing me what colours to use and had a go at stamping himself.

This image is from C C Designs and is called Dress Up Snowday from Roberto's Rascals range.  I adore these little characters and so pleased this is my first go at them.

I have used copics to colour this up and added a little 3D snow for depth.  The card is a CAS, the only way to do a boys card ;)

Copics used:

Skin: E000, E04, E11, E21, E00, R20, R11
Orange: E08, YR18, YR68, W5
Blue: B99, B97, B95, B93

Here is the little treat box I made.

I hope you like what I made, the box is now currently empty on my desk, the children couldn't wait till Halloween!!

Now let me tell you a short story.........

There was an abandoned house sitting in the middle of a fancy neighborhood in Calgary that nobody would go near. And I mean nobody!  Now , my pal Albert was the agent in charge of selling that haunted house and he tried everything in his power to close a deal.  But folks were too plumb scared to make an offer, even at rock-bottom prices.  Finally, Albert lit on the notion of selling the house sight unseen to a rich city slicker from the States. Worked like a charm, too, until the day the city slicker decided he wanted to visit the property after all.
Albert was all set to take the fellow there at high noon, but the city slicker’s train was delayed, so it wasn’t until after dinner that the two men set off for the haunted house. It was a dark and rainy night, but early enough in the evening that the ghost might still be resting. At least, Albert hoped this was the case.
Albert unlocked the front door, and it opened with an ominous creak. Albert swallowed nervously, but the city slicker just chuckled and said something about atmosphere. Albert relaxed a bit, and wondered if he shouldn’t have raised the price a bit. The two men entered a tall foyer absolutely festooned with dusty cobwebs.
“Creepy!” the city slicker said enthusiastically. He bounded energetically into the center of the foyer, “Come to me, foul spirits!” he intoned loudly.
Immediately, the whole house rang with a sinister, unearthly chuckle.  Then an unearthly  voice boomed: “I’m coming down now!” The city slicker jumped and then turned to Albert with a happy grin. “Great special effects! How’d you do that?”
“I didn’t,” Albert said, his teeth chattering. He backed up until he hit the front door and stood there with his hand on the knob.
“I’m coming down now!” the voice boomed again, and the city slicker’s grin slipped a bit. He looked at Albert’s frightened posture and then followed the agent’s gaze toward the stairs.
A bright light exploded into being at the top of the steps and quickly resolved into a sinister green head with flaming eyes, writhing hair, and fangs instead of teeth. The head opened its mouth and screamed; a terrible, high-pitched sound that scraped across the nerves.
As the head began rolling down the stairs toward the two men, Albert’s nerve broke, and a moment later he was halfway down the road, his own scream rivaling that of the specter in the house behind him.
It wasn’t until he was almost home that he realized that he had company. The city slicker was running along beside him.
“Mister, I don’t think I want that house after all,” he panted.
“Why not?” asked a hauntingly familiar voice. Albert and the city slicker looked over and saw the green head with flaming red eyes keeping pace with them as they raced down the street.
The city slicker gave a screech that would have shamed a banshee and disappeared into the distance so fast there was no keeping up with him.
“Must have been the asking price,” the floating head said conversationally to Albert. The real estate agent shrieked even louder than the city slicker and ran away so fast that his shoes made sparks against the pavement.
The next day, Albert quit his job and moved to Vancouver, where he spent the rest of his life working on a fishing boat.   And the haunted house fell into ruin and was eventually torn down.
